About Me

Arugula ready to harvest in February.

My background

I am growing a small backyard

garden in Zone 9b of Arizona.

Red petunias growing in the low desert of Arizona.

My goal

To grow food that nourishes my family.

To share my successes and failures in the garden.

To prove it is possible to grow in the desert!

The science corner

My small backyard garden is my outdoor science experiment!  I compost to feed my soil so that I can grow a healthy feast.

Bibb Lettuce

My approach

I grow only food that can sustain this harsh environment.

I never try to over complicate the process.

Keeping it simple-stupid (KISS) method.
